{"id":681,"date":"2020-12-19T16:51:12","date_gmt":"2020-12-19T16:51:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oubliette.org\/blog\/?p=681"},"modified":"2020-12-19T22:11:03","modified_gmt":"2020-12-19T22:11:03","slug":"this-one-goes-to-four","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oubliette.org\/blog\/index.php\/2020\/12\/19\/this-one-goes-to-four\/","title":{"rendered":"This One Goes To&#8230;Four"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">Moments ago it was announced that London and much of the south east of England will enter a newly created &#8220;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/tier-4-stay-at-home\" target=\"_blank\">Tier 4<\/a>&#8221; starting tomorrow morning, with restrictions largely matching the previous national &#8220;lock-downs.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The oft-discussed plan to relax restrictions for the days around Christmas &#8211; clearly a concession to what people wanted and not driven by any rigorous rational reasoning &#8211; have been scrapped in areas in the new highest tier, and restricted to &#8220;just Christmas day&#8221; for less restricted areas of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m waiting for the seemingly inevitable confirmation from the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/driver-and-vehicle-standards-agency\" target=\"_blank\">DVSA<\/a> that my driving test Monday morning has been canceled.  It&#8217;s fine.
