The Avalanche Is Starting

Ok, it's really not that significant but after some initial investigation I'm moving around a bunch of "domain services" - migrating them off the box that's going away at the end of March.

After a brief and ultimately failed experiment using XName, I've moved DNS for my domains to EveryDNS, and migrated email for oubliette.org to Google Apps, which so far are both doing everything I need them to.

We have a thus-far promising solution for the mailing lists currently hosted on the box.

The only things that leaves out in the cold are this blog and the fact that the box was serving as an off-site backup.

I think the blog will end up being hosted here (i.e. at the house) - I've ordered a (physically) small system to run as a dedicated server, hosting web sites and any other miscellany I discover I've forgotten about during this transition.
