I Wasn't Expecting the Spanish Inquisition...
Yesterday, on the way home from work, I witnessed a hit-and-run. Inching forward in a right turn lane behind a red light, the white pickup in front of me failed to stop before crunching into the rear bumper of the sedan in front of him. He backed off, cranked the wheel hard left, cut across two lanes of traffic, and made a right turn from the left turn lane at the light.
I pulled up to the lady who'd been hit, turned of the motorcycle, and gave her the license plate of the jerk who'd hit her, and my name and cel number.
At midnight last night, my cel phone woke me from a solid sleep with a call from Bellevue PD wanting to take my statement.
The officer apologized for the late hour, saying she needed (wanted? my memory is fuzzy) to reach me "today." By the time the call was over - maybe 10 minutes, I was wide awake, and remained so for a couple hours.
Just as I was drifting off to sleep, one of the cats had a very loud hairball - by the time I found the cleanup kit, applied it liberally, and crawled back into bed it was neigh on 2am.
My alarm roused me at 6:30, as usual.
Man I'm tired.
