So Good, and So Bad For You

Last night Dawnise and I went to Alfred and Jodie's for a BBQ, and Dawnise followed through with her long-standing "threat" to make bacon burgers.

As in patties of ground bacon.

We (ok, Dawnise and Alfred - I was playing with Zoe) made two enormous patties and pan fried them. The patties broke up during cooking (I told him I would have made three rather than two) but I'm ashamed to admit that didn't stop them being an incredible culinary experience. The fat rendered out, leaving something akin to "bacon cotton candy" - a light, crispy texture with all the smoky, salty bacon flavor you could want.

If it weren't for the fact that they're gawd-aweful for you, I could imagine eating them again.

Between the donuts and the bacon burger I think I've measurably shortened my lifespan this weekend...
