Robin Hood: First Reactions
While watching the Dr. Who episode The Family of Blood, Dawnise and I were both quite impressed with Harry Lloyd, so I took a look at what else he's been in of late, and ended up adding Robin Hood to my Netflix queue. The first disc arrived the other day, and Dawnise and I watched two episodes last night...
Unlike a couple other notable series (Dr. Who, Firefly, even Torchwood) it didn't grab me in the first episode. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great.
The first two
The actor playing the Sherrif seems to be struggling a bit to give dimension to a cardboard cut-out character who practically has "CRAZY BAD GUY" tatoo'd on his forehead. Sir Guy of Gisborne, on the other hand, has already caused Dawnise to comment that he doesn't seem like he's evil - just a self-serving and amoral.
I figure I'll watch the rest of the episodes on the disk and see if I feel the need to see their successors.
