It's been over a year, it must be time to get pissed @ AT&T again

In January of last year, I had a knock-down-drag-out with AT&TCingular.

I finally got someone on their end who knew their arse from their elbow who was able to add the Blackberry Data plan to my "old AT&T account" - something several other representatives insisted was impossible without "upgrading" to Cingular service (pay more, get less), and getting a new Sim and phone number and two year contract.

And having managed to avoid talking to anyone at Cingular since, I had forgotten how much I hate those guys... 'till tonight...

We're leaving for Cabo early tomorrow morning, and I realized I should call AT&T Cingular AT&T to make sure my phone will work while we're there.

After speaking to a friendly Canadian I got put on hold while she spoke to the international provisioning folks. She came back a few minutes later to inform me that it was impossible to add international dialing to my existing plan without (wait for it) "upgrading" to a new AT&T plan and getting a new Sim and phone number along with a two year contract.

Last time they told me this, I had the time to prove them wrong. This time I don't.

I fucking hate AT&T.

Since my Treo is unlocked (see previous fight with AT&T) and we're back in suburbia where multiple carriers have coverage, maybe it's time to sign up with a new set of idiots. Anyone have horror stories about T-Mobile they'd like to share?
