Bags
I like to say I don't collect things, generally speaking, but I'm starting to wonder if that's really true...
I've mentioned my fascination with coffee makers before, and I'm still amassing music and fountain pens, but I try to be picky about the things I accumulate.
A couple years ago I got a Timbuk2 messenger bag as a gift. It's awesome. While commuting on the motorcycle, it went with me everywhere, rain or shine, and did a terrific job of keeping my notebook and assorted "stuff" dry and accessible.
The other day, I bought a solo leather laptop portfolio. I didn't need it, but the price was good, and the bag was nicely designed (notice that the grab handle isn't attached to the flip lid, so you can open it without dumping it's contents on the floor) and well constructed.
I can see why some women go ga-ga over purses.
I have a similar, but less luxurious, bag that I bought from some random "discount leather" place years ago while working remotely for (and hence commuting relatively frequently to) OpenMarket. It's in my closet.
So I have three messenger bags, but only one set of shoulders on which to carry one.
I guess that qualifies as a collection, doesn't it...
