On the 'net again

Sung to the tune of "On the Road Again," with apologies to Willie Nelson and his legion of fans.

On the net again
I couldn't wait to get on the net again
I scheduled install before we even had moved in
'cause I couldn't wait to get on the net again

I think we all agree it's best that I just stop right there.

Dawnise and I spent Wednesday packing, took a trip to the new place Wed. night with some last minute stuff we didn't want to pack, or didn't think we could pack well enough to avoid being broken, and woke up early Thursday to continue the mad scramble to get the last random stuff into boxes.

The movers arrived around 10 on Thursday morning and despite near torrential rain had us loaded out by around 6pm. We left the house around 9, Dawnise in the car with three annoyed cats and me on the Trophy (see previous comment about torrential rain - it was awesome).

Friday morning the crew was on site by just after 7, and by 3pm had unloaded everything. As far as we can tell, nothing was broken. The final tally was just shy of twenty-two thousand pounds of stuff. Holy crap. Friday night Alfred and Jodi were gracious hosts to the two of us. We had a nice dinner, good conversation, and got to lavish attention on Zoƫ. We got back home just before 11 and I vaguely remember getting into bed...

This morning I got the office mostly put back together so Comcast could come and install data services "between 2 and 6pm." Once I had things ready for him, we hit the local Lowes so I could grab a part for the dryer, and I got the laundry room operational. Dan - the Comcast installer - arrived at 4:30, and finished about 6pm - at which point I ushered him out the door and hopped in the car to join Dawnise and Donna for a dinner already in progress at the local outback.

We're back - I'm still fetching backlogged email, so if you said anything important over the last few days, it might take me a while to get back to you...

Anyway - we, and all 10 tons of our shit, made it safely to the other side.

Here's to a 20 minute commute on Monday morning.

w00t!
