Weekend in Review
We had a really good weekend despite the move still being unresolved (it's a long story, don't ask).
Saturday was taken up with some running around and an evening at the improv followed by some good ice cream. Sunday we slept in (well, when you're normally up by quarter to 6, 8:30 is sleeping in), made French toast for breakfast, and spent a lazy day around the house.
We had dinner reservations at Molly Ward Gardens with the Lelouches (can't call him "David the crepe guy, as he sold the creperie a couple months back). We had incredible food. Like one of the top ten meals of my life food. The ladies both had the seared ahi with tomatillo salsa and Jasmine rice, and David and I ended up both having the rack of lamb with blackberry sauce and onion-pumpkin tart.
David's a professional chef - he wasn't always "the crepe guy" - he's been executive sou chef and head chef at a catering business, and he's a cynical Frenchman, so when he raves to the chef, I knew it wasn't just me.
It was really good, and the wine, and the company were the icing on the cake.
And then we had desert - David and I had a chocolate basil tart with creme-fresh, Dawnise had the peanut butter pie, and Shannon the apple pie. I couldn't finish, so I have half a tart in the fridge. I'm thinking dinner tonight is gonna be desert.
Yum.
