Squishy Keyboards Make Me Cry

After reading my short rant on RSI, Steve pointed out that my favorite keyboard almost certainly wasn't helping my wrists.

So this morning I begrudgingly grabbed a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Whiz-bang 4000 from the IT guys.

I hate it.

My wrists like it.

I guess I'm stuck with it for a while...

Maybe I can find one of these...

The Lexmark ergonomic keyboard looks just as squishy as the MSFT keyboard. Try the model in my email. I have four MSFT keyboards now and of the batch, the one I use every day is the most like the Model M.

Non-keyboard related... if you haven't looked into your workstation ergonomics, you should definitely take a closer look. Don't be afraid to deviate from recommendations if you find a certain configuration to be more comfortable. For my body, the most comfortable position is with the keyboard in my lap and the chair a little lower so that my feet touch the ground and the monitor at just a hair below eye level. The configuration violates a rule or two, but I can tell you with certainty that this is the only config I've found which doesn't hurt when I type a lot.

Mousing however, is still another beast I haven't entirely worked out.
