Two Steps Forward, One Step Sideways
Since moving in, we've had some spare furniture sitting about collecting dust (and stuff). Over the last week Dawnise has found homes for most of it - the armoire that used to house our TV going to a lady who wanted it as a free-standing closet, and Dawnise's old dresser and our two nightstands going to our friends Brad & Kat.
Not to be satisfied with removing things from the house, we bought two lowboys, one destined for the dining room to house stemware, and one for the room-outside-our-bedroom-we're-still-not-sure-what-to-call to hold assorted kitchen stuff that's been, up to now, sitting above the kitchen cabinets looking hodge-podge.
Brad & Kat picked up the dresser and nightstands last night after the surprise party, and having had four shots of good espresso, I decided sleep was unnecessary and Dawnise and I assembled and loaded the Amanda, which had arrived on Friday. I'm pretty happy with the quality of the product for the price. It's laminate (the one for the dining room is real wood), but pretty well designed and fairly attractive even on close inspection.
