Twin Peaks
What the hell's up with Season 2 of Twin Peaks not being released on DVD?
For that matter, someone 'splain to my why I had to buy Season 1 from amazon.co.uk to get the two hour pilot!? (Let's hear it for region free DVD players.)
I never watched Twin Peaks when it originally aired, but I had bought the (American) Season 1 DVD set for Dawnise when it came out several years ago. I learned recently that she'd never watched it, mostly 'cause it was missing the pilot. (And did I mention that Season 1 was only seven episodes? Had I realized how little material was actually included in the US release, I'd have probably skipped it entirely).
I'm also not a huge David Lynch fan - having seen much of his movie work, I find him to be gratuitously obtuse - and I find that the "theories" that fans build around his movies have more thought put into them than the movie in question.
So I was surprised to find, episode by episode, that I actually liked Twin Peaks. And I was annoyed to discover, after watching the penultimate episode, that the second season has yet to be released on DVD.
Grumble.
