Sin City
Dawnise expressed no interest in seeing Sin City when it came out, so it ended up on my "watch while Dawnise is in Africa" list.
Good thing, too. She'd have hated it, despite it's merits.
I was only passingly familiar with the source material when the movie buzz started, so I borrowed a some from a friend. After reading it, I wasn't sure they could make an R-rated version of the comics that had the visceral ultra-violent tone.
They did.
The movie was a visual accomplishment if nothing else - it was like watching comic panels come to life - like some twisted modern version of The Pageant of the Masters. It also joins the short list of movies in which I liked Bruce Willis' performance.
Oh, and despite my general lack of star-struckedness over Rosario Dawson, who probably would have stood out even without the fishnets and stilettos. Probably.
I'm just sayin'...
