Coffee & Baked Goods: Ignorance is Bliss
I'm a sucker for baked goods with my coffee in the morning, and it doesn't help that work provides hot and cold (literally) running junk food.
I've gained 5lbs since starting here, and I'm working on reversing that - one thing that means is not having a scone or muffin with my coffee every morning.
This morning was one of my "splurge" days, so I filled my mug and headed for the 10th floor kitchen to peruse the supply. I grabbed a blueberry muffin (we get 'em delivered from Costco, nothing special, but they satisfy the baked-goods craving) and spotted a sticker with the nutritional information sitting next to them on the counter.
I could have just turned 'round and walked away.
But no, I had to look.
Let's just say that after learning that the treat in my hand was near 700 calories (300 of them from fat) I savored it a bit more than I have in the past.
Yikes.
